Yes, this solar trail cam runs on 4G LTE service only and needs a SIM card the first time you pair it with phone app, but it still records footage to memeory card when data uses up. You can use your own SIM if you already have one from the local operator.

3. How does this cellular solar powered security camera consume data?

The hunting camera consumes data when user retrieves live stream on the phone and when it detects a motion. It may cause extra data usage if a cloud subscription is applied for the wildlife camera.

I got this camera to capture the entrance to my driveway which is more than 250 feet from my house. The camera is much smaller than my previous trail cam. It came with everything you need to install and use it. Camera has a built-in Li-On battery and also can be powered from the included solar battery. It can be mounted using screws (and anchors if necessary) or just belted to the tree (belt is included as well). Both camera and solar battery mounting brackets have adjustable tilt. Solar battery is connected to the camera via USB-C port. Camera has microSD and SIM slots. 32GB microSD and SIM cards were included. I used my SIM card. Camera has voice guidance. In 10 seconds after I powered it up it told me that it is connected to the network. I installed the recommended Kassa app and scanned the QR code without any issues (thanks to hi-res image sensor). Video and pictures are stunning quality in both darkness and daylight conditions. You can record sound as well. App allows you to access storage and settings remotely, You can also enable advanced features like human body recognition trigger. Everything except cloud storage is subscription free provided you use your own SIM card.

This thing is WAY better then I expected for the price!

I am super surprised at how nice this trail cam is. Its high quality built. The functions are easy to use. Picture / video quality is better then it should be for the price. And it comes with everything you need to use it right out of the box. I have a long gravel drive that draws curious people to drive down it. So I will be using this trail cam to get real time pictures of who is on my property. Kinda like having a "ring" door bell for your driveway. If I have any con, it would be for the visual appearance. It kinda looks like a kids robotic toy. A different color or a camo pattern would really make this a solid 5 star item all day.

Good camera for a decent price

The coolest thing about this camera is that you can insert your own sim card,you can monitor from very remote area , as long as you have 4 g coverage.The camera is decent and you and insert your own memory card for picture storage.You can monitor from your phone!It is solar powered for continuous operation.Great for Nature watching or securing your property on your house, ranch or hunting lease.Im gonna find Bigfoot for sure!

Exceeded expectations!

This camera does not work on wifi, as stated in description, but the connection to cellular is fast and the camera picture is great. Set up was easy. Everything feels sturdy and like it is made with quality materials. I haven't had the chance to leave it out in hard weather yet, but it feels like it will hold up well.
